Destiny is no matter of chance.
It is a matter of choice.
It is not a thing to be waited for;
It is a thing to be achieved.
—William Jennings Bryan
Whenever I begin something new, whether small or big, I always start with by asking “why” questions. Why do I need to wake up at 5 am every morning? Why do I have to run a marathon? Why do I have to stay late at the office? And when starting a new project, I also ask: Why does the client have to choose Hakuhodo?
I think client service people are like a brave soldiers in the battlefield. Their courageous spirit is multiplied manifold if behind them there is a solid rearguard that always gives them the best support. The client service soldier’s only duty, therefore, is to fight, fight, fight. At the Hakuhodo Vietnam Group, a unique full-service agency in Vietnam, I always have the full and enthusiastic support of our talented and productive strategy, creative, digital, media, legal and admin teams. I approach my daily work as a soldier in the battlefield. And I trust that’s why clients choose the Hakuhodo Vietnam Group.
You can dream, create, design, and build the most wonderful place in the world, but it requires people to make the dream a reality.
—Walt Disney
Teamwork makes the dream work. In order to build a strong team and lead it toward future jobs, a leader must have earned his team’s trust and gained permission to lead. To achieve that, he needs to maintain a posture of serving. This is the motto I live and work by.
