Be a true rocker!
The spirit of rock ‘n’ roll is often associated with rebellion, freedom, and a sense of nonconformity. For me, rock ‘n’ roll lies in the boldness of expressing individuality and the courage to push beyond the boundaries without sacrificing creativity. Deep down, I know this rocker spirit has been the driving force pushing me forward since my first job as an Account Executive at an advertising agency after graduating from college.
I find myself lucky to stand as the only CEO in Taiwan with experience in leading a multinational agency and directing the first Taiwan Stock Exchange-listed advertising group. Before joining Hakuhodo, I was the CEO of Growww Group and spent half of my time managing investor relations, including board and shareholder meetings, and corporate communications.
A large portion of my career was spent working for a western advertising network, followed by a local Taiwanese advertising group. I didn’t have the chance to work for a Japanese company until 2020 and am thankful that fate led me to the right place at the right time. What I find fascinating about the application of Hakuhodo’s Sei-katsu-sha* Insight philosophy is that it helped me and my team to better adapt to different work cultures and build solid partnerships with co-workers across the Hakuhodo global network. I have to say, Hakuhodo is truly the best company anyone could aspire to work for!
The Hakuhodo Group in Taiwan has a large presence and is one of the biggest players locally. My main tasks are to facilitate Group synergies, attract and secure talent, and provide clients with top-notch creative, digital, data, media, PR, and exhibition services. In addition, I strongly believe that Taiwan can effectively contribute to and collaborate with other markets, together making Hakuhodo a strong and unparalleled network!
Note: I am actually a real-life guitarist and the leader of the signed rock ‘n’ roll band Men Envy Children (小男孩樂團 in Chinese). My band’s music videos have 52 million+ views on YouTube, and countless weekend live house and music festival performances have made MEC a well-known urban rock band in Taiwan. MEC, which originated from a year-end party at my previous advertising agency, is now the best showcase of a work-life balance in the industry. Check out Men Envy Children when you have a moment!
* “Sei-katsu-sha” is a term we use to describe people not simply as consumers, but as fully rounded individuals with their own lifestyles, aspirations and dreams.
