Tokyo Culture Story archives Tokyo culture from 1976 to 2016. The project was presented by the fashion and lifestyles company BEAMS to commemorate its 40th anniversary. The video compiles 40 years of Tokyo fashion and music, perfectly recreating 82 iconic looks from the streets of Tokyo from 1976 to 2016. Twenty-seven musicians representing 15 genres, from city pop to acid jazz, play “Boogie Back,” a Japanese youth anthem along the lines of “Walk This Way.”
